Vincent "Lucky" Luciano
95, of Tucson passed away on July 17, 2015. He finally went home to join Mary, the love of his life of 60 years. Born to Angelo and Assunta Luciano in Venosa Italy, he arrived in the United States through Ellis Island at the young age of seven, at which time he and his mother joined his father in Utica, New York. Vince was an Army veteran. He served with the 99th Signal Battalion in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He married Mary Damento in 1946 and moved to Tucson in 1948. Vince worked and retired after 40 years from the Civil Service in the Army Reserve. He was an active member of the St. Ambrose parish and he was a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. Vince and Mary raised six wonderful children: Angela (Peter) of Walnut Creek, CA; Susie (Mike) of Tucson, AZ; Barbara (Norman) of Boise, ID; Vincent (Jane) of Tucson, AZ; John (Carolyn) of Tucson, AZ and Margaret (Hank) of Half Moon Bay, CA. He leaves behind 17 grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. Mary predeceased Vince in 2006. The family would like to thank the staff at Tucson Medical Center Hospice (Peppi's House) for the loving care given to Vince. ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES (Dodge Chapel) 1050 N. Dodge Blvd., will hold a Visitation Friday, July 24, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 300 S. Tucson Blvd. Interment will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to TMC Hospice (Peppi's House).
