James "Jim" L. Perry
passed in his sleep April 6th, 2013. Born in Santa Fe, NM November 24th, 1926, he was the son of Edgar and Ann Perry. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Annaliese M. Perry who died in 2002. Known for his 6'4" height, his sense of humor and his expansive generosity, he will be missed by many including his sons, Steven and Richard, their wive's Cathy and Teressa; daughter, Ellie, her husband Thomas; and two grandchildren. Jim served during WW II as an electrician in the Navy. After discharge he received a BS in forestry from UC Berkeley before following in his father's footsteps into the US Forest Service in 1952. He retired to Tucson in 1983 from a celebrated career as Supervisor of the Santa Fe National Forest. In lieu of flowers, any donations to conservation efforts would be appreciated.
