Donald Norman Ohmart
57, passed away in Rocky Point, MX on February 10, 2014 following a battle with heart failure. Don was born in Ft Wayne, IN on March 13, 1956 and moved to Tucson in 1959. He graduated from Sahauro High School in 1973 and started his career at Raytheon in 1976 where he met Vicky, his wife of 15 years. Don retired from Raytheon in March 2011; he was a member of the Machinist & Aerospace Workers Union and was a strong advocate for union causes but loved all Raytheon staff regardless of affiliations. Although Don was passionate about his job (and spoke often of his coworkers and job responsibilities), he was also a friend to all and was truly loved by his family and friends. He was "The Most Interesting Man in the World". He enjoyed animals, stickers of any kind and loved exploring the outdoors on his favorite ATV. Don was the life of the party and could engage anyone on any subject at any time. He is missed by all of us that loved his passion for life and his innate goodness. He was a good soul, may he rest in peace. Don is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and May Ohmart and his son, Robert "Robbie" Ohmart. Don leaves behind his brothers, David Ohmart (Margo) and Douglas Ohmart; sisters, Maribeth O'Meara and Barbara Ray (Kenneth) and nieces, Patricia Salter (Judson), Shawna Knight (Thomas) and Sarah Pedersen (Chris) and nephews, Fletcher Ohmart and Matthew Freeman. A casual Memorial Service will be held at the Desert Son Church, 5250 E. Cortaro Farms Rd., Tucson, AZ on Friday, February 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. The family asks that you remember Don with a donation to the American Humane Society in lieu of flowers.
