JACOBS, Jeanne Livingston
61, passed away on April 27, 2017 in Tucson, Arizona. Jeannie was born on March 9, 1956 in Washington, DC to the late John and Ruth Livingston. She was the youngest of five children and received her BA degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is survived by her husband, four siblings, Joan Johnson, John Livingston, Janet Carney and James Livingston; five children and two grandchildren. Jeannie married Lance Jacobs in 1989. Together they raised five wonderful children, Kimberly, Jordan, Alexis, Conor and Sofea. Kimberly and husband, Dan Beineke have created two beautiful grandchildren in Jacob and Zoe. Jeannie was a devout Catholic and she believed that her highest earthly calling was to be a devoted mother, grandmother and wife. On all counts she was an extraordinary success and her family's enduring love for her stands as testament. Jeannie was also very active in the Tucson community. She served for many years on the board of directors for the Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus, a treasured Tucson institution. In that capacity she worked tirelessly to advance the interests of TABC and in the process touched hundreds of people in a positive and meaningful way. Jeannie also served for years as president of the Tanque Verde Soccer Club. In that role she significantly contributed to advancing the growth of soccer for TVSC. Her leadership, passion for the game and, most importantly, her love for the people within the community, led directly to her affecting countless people in a positive manner. Bethany Beach, Delaware and a family beach cottage on the ocean held almost mystical happiness for Jeannie. Every year, for decades, she and her family converged on the quaint little town of Bethany. It is impossible to have truly known Jeannie without understanding her love of that singular place. She interweaved love of place with love of family and in so doing she created uncountable memories of beauty, adventure and happiness. Those memories will stand eternal. Our lives having meaning not in material things, but in the legacy of love we leave behind. Jeannie left such a legacy not just with her beloved family, but with every friend she made along the way. She led a life well lived and we are all the richer for her time on this earth. She will be missed and loved forever. There will be a Memorial Service at St. Pius X Church, 1800 N. Camino Pio Decimo on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at noon. Please join us in commemorating the life of Jeanne Livingston Jacobs. Jeannie was colorful in every aspect of her life so please dress in celebration, not in mourning. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL.
