John Thomas Troyan
age 92, died peacefully in his home on December 20, 2012. John was born in 1920 in Pleasant City, OH to the late John R. and Mary (Repasky) Troyan. He moved to Tucson after his honorable discharge from the US Army Air Corps in which he served from 1941 to 1946. He retired after working for 23 years with the US Postal Service. However he never really retired as he and his wife continued to serve those less fortunate. They took time to help feed and clothe the homeless and rescue stray cats and dogs that needed homes. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Agnes (nee Barnin), daughters, Donna (Jim) Pierce, Darlene (Roger) Rivers, Doreen (Tim) Windsor; son, John (Karen) Troyan; sister, Barbara Troyan; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren of whom he was very proud. He was predeceased by his daughter Diana Liddle (Schwatken), sister Pauline and brother George. Dad was a very thoughtful and selfless man, even in his last moments on earth. He whispered to his wife that he was leaving and that all would be ok. He was truly loved by all who knew him. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 4, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with prayer recitation at 11:30 a.m. in ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Avalon Chapel. Graveside Service with military honors will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Holy Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to honor his memory may be made to the Humane Society of Southern Arizona.
