Virginia Esther Slaughter Belcher
passed away peacefully, on October 21, 2011, surrounded by all those who loved her deeply, at the age of 92 years young. Born on March 25, 1919, in Springfield, Ohio, she was the only child of Hugh Orten and Allie Slaughter. Virginia's love of her family was unwavering. She touched the lives of everyone she met and her presence in our lives is a gift we will always be thankful for. We miss you Mom. Virginia is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Wilson C. "Ted" Belcher and her son, Walter Belcher Sr. Her legacy lives on through two children, Duane Belcher Sr. and Virginia "Ginny" Rountree (Brad); five grandchildren, Walter Belcher Jr., Duane Belcher Jr. (Monica), Kendra Belcher, Kevin Rountree, and Kelli Rountree; eight great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and one sister-in-law, Demis Brown of Cleveland, Ohio along with a host of family and friends. A Celebration of Virginia's Life will be held at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway, on Thursday, October 27, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held in Cleveland, Ohio where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
