The last time comedian Bill Cosby came to Tucson, the Arizona Wildcats men's basketball team lost its 2005 March Madness bid.
In fact, that game against Illinois upstaged the Cos, and he knew it. So he played along, giving updates on the score and consoling the audience when, nary 30 minutes into his show, the Wildcats lost in OT.
It's a good thing he's coming back for his encore on a Sunday in September. No chance the Wildcat hoopsters will outshine him as he weaves his hilarious tales of fatherhood and lessons learned during 69 years of living life to its fullest.
Cosby will play Casino del Sol's AVA, 5655 W. Valencia Road, at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 3. Tickets ($30 for lawn; $47 reserved) go on sale Friday through Ticketmaster, 321-1000; or the casino, 883-1700.
