About 170 couples renewed their wedding vows during a Mass at St. Augustine Cathedral on Sunday, Sept. 21.

Terrance and Thecla McCarthy have been married for 64 years and along the way they have published books on the family and a cook book. Their advice: "work!"
Bishop Gerald Kicanas gave his blessing as he celebrated mass and presided over the renewal of vows for about 170 couples at St Augustine Cathedral, 192 S. Stone Ave. The mass was open to couples celebrating anniversaries for their first, 10th, 25th, 50th, 60th time or longer. In addition, there are 22 couples celebrating anniversaries between the mentioned years.
