Temple Emanu-El, 225 N. Country Club Road, is celebrating its 100th anniversary at a centennial Shabbat service with guest speaker Rabbi Eric H. Yoffie, president of the Union for Reform Judaism, at 7:30 p.m. Friday. The service is free and open to the public.
Yoffie "has been a positive voice for Jewish commitment, change, and meaning, and it is a great pleasure to have him address our community," Temple Emanu-El Rabbi Samuel M. Cohon said. "This marks the first time the head of the Reform Movement in Judaism, or the head of any movement in Judaism, for that matter, has spoken in Tucson."
