Rincon Baptist to host Saturday night singalongs
Rincon Baptist Church, 7500 E. Golf Links Road, is trying to bridge the gap between contemporary Christian music and traditional hymns with a “country-gospel singalong,” according to press materials.
The concert series, led by Tucson singer/songwriter DeLon, is presented by Lighthouse Ministries and begins at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, April 30, and will continue every Saturday at the same time. A brief sermon will follow the hourlong set.

The United Church of Christ will ordain intern Derrick Elliott of Casas Adobes Congregational Church as a minister at 6801 N. Oracle Road at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 1, according to press materials.
The church will also host a discussion on Proposition 123 at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, May 1.

Grace St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 2331 E. Adams St., will launch a "spiritual support group" for individuals dealing with depression at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 7. The series will continue each Saturday through June 11, according to press materials.
The series is free, but participants must attend all six sessions.
The Rev. Chris Ledyard and Karen Hanson will lead the group.

Mountain Vista Unitarian Universalist Church, 3601 W. Cromwell Drive, will host a songfest honoring folk singer Pete Seeger at 7 p.m. Friday, May 6.
Composer and guitarist Jim Scott, whohas written Unitarian Universalist hymns and knew Seeger, will lead the night.
Admission is $20, according to press materials.
