Even the French can't resist the idea of rolling pork in a blanket and eating it with their fingers.
Only the French take is a bit more sophisticated: Instead of hot dogs rolled in biscuit batter with a chunk of cheese, they roll delicately spiced pork sausage links in paper thin, chewy crepes, then lightly dust them with powdered sugar.
Wait; it gets better.
Instead of dipping the dogs in ketchup and mustard, you run these Pigs in Paris through a pool of warm, sweet, sticky syrup.
OK, we're not sure they even do that in Paris, but that's how they do it at the intimate French Twist Café in Oro Valley. The dish is meant for the kiddies, but we're sure if you ask, they wouldn't have a problem serving it to adults.
Pigs in Paris is $4.25 on the breakfast and Sunday brunch menu at the French Twist Café, 10110 N. Oracle Road, Suite 180, in Oro Valley, 797-1127.
