Hugh cottonwood trees and oleanders flank the bricked walk leading to the Hills' home. A great wooden door set into the doorway is itself banked by white louvered doors.

The entrance to the Hills' dining room is through a handcrafted door. All of the furniture in the room was designed by Dr. Hill. The fireplace undergoes frequent use as a grill and, in cold weather days, helps warm the dining room.

Mrs. Hill hand-carved the flower and leaf design on the drawers of the Mexican cedar chest to the left. The antique Russian candlesticks belonged to her great-aunt.

The living room is reached through an arched doorway. A great braided rug in the foreground was made by Dr. Hill's mother, as were several others in the house. The far wall, of Mexican cedar, is dominated by a burnt adobe fireplace. Books line the shelves on the right, while Ironstone china dishes that belonged to Mrs. Hill's great-grandmother are on the left.

Sliding glass doors from the living room lead to a huge enclosed terrace. Comfortable rattan chairs invite the family and guests to relax and observe the panoramic view of green fields and trees below the house and the ever magnificent Catalinas in the distance. The oleander hedge on the right conceals a swimming pool.
