For the fourth year in a row, Emma was the top girl's name according to the annual list of the most popular baby names released by the Social Security Administration on Friday, May 11, 2018. Liam pushed last year's champ, Noah, to second to claim the top spot. Here's a look at the rest:

9. Oliver and Evelyn
This is the first time Oliver has been in the top 10. Evelyn had previously reached No. 10 in popularity in 1915.
8. Elijah and Amelia
Elijah moved up from No. 9 in 2016, which was the first time the name had placed in the top 10. This is the first year Amelia has made the top 10, although it was No. 11 in popularity last year.
7. Mason and Charlotte
This is Mason's seventh year in the top 10 list. It peaked at No. 2 in 2011 and 2012. Charlotte also ranked as No. 7 in popularity last year. It's been in the top 10 since 2014.
6. Benjamin and Mia
This is the third year Benjamin has ranked in the top 10, but it has been among the top 25 names since 2003. Mia has been No. 6 in popularity for the past five years. It's been in the top 10 since 2009.
5. Logan and Sophia
This is Logan's first appearance in the top 10. Its previous high ranking was No. 13 in 2014. Sophia has been in the top 10 since 2006. It was ranked No. 1 in popularity from 2011-2013.
4. James and Isabella
James has been in the top 10 since 2014, but also was consistently in the top 10 from 1879, the first year name data is available for through the SSA, until 1992. Isabella has been in the top 10 since 2004. It was the No. 1 girls' name in 2009 and 2010.
3. William and Ava
William has been in the top 10 since 2006. It was also in the top 10 each year before 1976. Ava has been in the top 10 since 2005.
2. Noah and Olivia
Noah has been in the top 10 since 2009. It was No. 1 for boys from 2013-2016. Olivia has made the top 10 each year since 2001. Although it has ranked as No. 2 several times, it's never been the most popular girls' name for any given year.
1. Liam and Emma
This is Liam's first time as the No. 1 boys' name. It's been in the top 10 since 2012. Emma, however, has been the top girls' name for the past four years as well as in 2008. It's been in the top 10 since 2002.
