Head to Petrified Forest National Park to watch Puerco Pueblo's solar calendar in action at the summer solstice.
You'll be able to watch as sunlight is directed through a crack in a large boulder, then beamed directly onto a small spiral petroglyph. Experts believe the marking was deliberately placed.
The peak experience occurs about 9 a.m. June 20-22. A park ranger will be present to explain the phenomenon from 8 to 9:30 a.m. today through June 28.
Cost: $10 per vehicle to enter the park.
