Box Camp Trail
Drive:
Take Tanque Verde Road to the Catalina Highway and follow the highway to a parking lot for the Box Camp Trail. It's on the left side of the highway between Mileposts 21 and 22.
When:
Consider an early start when hiking during the monsoon. That gives you a better chance of getting back to the trailhead before afternoon thunderstorms roll in.
Cost:
The Forest Service charges a $5 fee on the Catalina Highway.
Et cetera:
Carry drinking water, rain gear and some energy food for the uphill trek back to the trailhead.
