A collision between a pickup truck and a tractor trailer near Benson left one person dead.
The wreck occurred about 4:40 p.m. Sunday on westbound Interstate 10 near milepost 304, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
A 2016 Dodge pickup truck struck the back of a slower-moving tractor trailer while traveling westbound. The impact killed the passenger in the front, right seat, identified as Socorro P. Sotelo, a 70-year-old Phoenix resident. The driver of the pickup truck was pinned inside the truck and had to be extricated by authorities.
Three occupants of the pickup truck were flown to Tucson. The driver of the tractor trailer had minor injuries.
