The home of M.J. Lang and family was photographed for the Tucson Citizen Home section of Nov. 15, 1958. The family wanted a home in which anyone coming in would feel comfortable.

Privet hedge frames the front yard of the Lang home. The diamond patterned windows set off the gleaming white of the combination Spanish-territorial style house. A red tile roof shades double front doors.

Private patio adjoins master bathroom at Land home. Glittering goldfish flit about in their free style patterned pond which matches the adjoining sunken bath and shower in the master bathroom. A statuary figure of St. Francis of Assisi watches over the birdbath in the private patio - reached through the sliding glass doors.

The entire east wall of the Langs' living room is constructed of Arizona flagstone. The massive horns above the fireplace measure 6' 1". Three of Strang's most famous horse paintings hang in the living room: "Taffy" (shown here), "Curiosity" and "Slowpoke."

A blue-robed Madonna stands on a protruding rock in the copper ore west wall of the entranceway. A planter is built at the base of this rock wall.

The master bedroom is a tone picture with walls, ceiling panels, draperies and bed spread in white, the glazed fir beams and wall-to-wall carpeting, turquoise. An afghan made by Mrs. Lang's mother is a splash of brilliant color across the corner rocker. Sliding glass doors lead to the main patio.

Outdoor living at its best describes the Lang's patio. One corner features a commodious barbecue with a glass-topped table and wrought iron chairs handily nearby. The west end of the patio and the area along the back of the house are bricked while the rest is in grass. Peach, plum and apricot trees provide the family with fresh fruit in season.
