A 21-year-old man was killed in a rollover accident on Gates Pass Road Monday evening.
The man was westbound in the 5700 block of West Gates Pass Road around 5:20 p.m. when he lost control of a Chevrolet Malibu and went off the road, said Deputy Nicole Feldt, a Pima County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman.
He over-corrected, rolling the car and was partially ejected, she said. The man — the sole occupant of the vehicle — was taken to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Alcohol may be a factor and speed definitely played a part in the crash, Feldt said.
The victim's name will not be released until his family has been notified, Feldt said.
