A woman killed in a motorcycle crash at the intersection of West Calle Aragon and South Santa Clara has been identified as Ana Lisa Ordonez, 36, in a statement released by Tucson Police on Saturday, February 20.
The crash occurred around 6 p.m. Friday, February 19, when the motorcycle, driven by Rene Abeyta, 36, hit a truck making a turn at the intersection causing it to roll over. Abeyta and the driver of the truck were taken to Banner University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, but Ordonez was pronounced dead on scene. She and Abeyta were not wearing helmets, and TPD says speed and alcohol were factors in the collision.
Abeyta was arrested for manslaughter and two counts of aggravated assault with serious physical injury.
