A man killed Tuesday morning after being struck by a car while walking on Rudasill Road near La Canada Drive has been identified.
Peter Morse, 54, was walking west in the shoulder of Rudasill against traffic when he was struck by an eastbound Toyota sedan shortly before 6 a.m., said Sgt. Dawn Barkman, a Pima County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman.
Crews from Northwest Fire responded to the scene and began advance life support measures on Morse who was critically wounded, said Capt. Adam Goldberg, a spokesman for the department. Morse was taken to University of Arizona Medical Center where he died shortly after arrival, Goldberg said.
The driver, James Douglas Soukup, 68, was cited on suspicion of causing serious injury or death with a vehicle, driving without due care and failure to control speed, Barkman said in a news release.
