The TUSD Governing Board approved the hiring of seven principals for the upcoming school year Tuesday.Â
With the exception of one of the seven appointments, all have been serving in an interim capacity at the school that they will be permanently assigned to.Â
Only Jeffrey Uhrig is new to the Tucson Unified School District, coming from the Sunnyside Unified School District where he served as associate principal of Sierra 2-8 School. In the fall he will be leading Vesey Elementary.Â

- Nathan Edwards for Cragin Performing Arts Magnet Elementary School
- Deanna Harris for Kellond Elementary School
- Julio Moreno for Ochoa Community Magnet Elementary School
- Roberto Thompson for Van Buskirk Elementary School
- Marco Ruiz for Warren Elementary School
- Israel Macias-Reyes for Project MORE High School.
