Tucson police arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with the 2009 shooting death of an 18-year-old man.
Anibal Cordova shot Alexis Nunez after an altercation at a bus stop on the south side in April 2009, said Sgt. Diana Lopez, a Tucson police spokeswoman. Cordova ran away before the police showed up and eventually fled the country, she said.
Cordova was found in Hermosillo, Sonora, and turned over to the U.S. Marshals Service on April 29. He was hospitalized for an injury and then turned over to the Tucson police.
He was booked into the Pima County jail on Sunday on a first-degree murder warrant.
