Marana Unified School District's Desert Winds Elementary School is celebrating its 30th anniversary today, following an early-morning assembly with its annual Family Math Night from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Family Math Night consists of math activities and games, and this year's edition has a birthday theme. Cupcakes and light refreshments will be served. And yes, revelers will sing "Happy Birthday" to the school, which is located at 12675 W. Rudasill Road.
“We are honored to be celebrating our 30th birthday,” said Tawnya Caldwell, principal Desert Winds Elementary, in a statement. “Our school has such a rich history dedicated to providing the best education possible and instilling the importance of learning and productive citizenship.” “We want to thank our amazing community for their ongoing support.”
The K-3 school serves 378 students.
