A suspended license plate led to the discovery of more than 1,000 pounds of marijuana Saturday morning east of Benson.
Hector Soto-Hernandez, 39, of Douglas is facing a charge of possession/transportation of marijuana.
The bust occurred around 7:45 a.m. when an Arizona Department of Public Safety Officer stopped a blue 1989 Chevrolet truck that was pulling a flatbed on Interstate 10.
The officer utilized a drug-sniffing dog name Manny to check out the vehicle, the DPS said.
The dog alerted to the flatbed where the officer found 1,052 pounds of marijuana in a false compartment in the trailer.
Soto-Hernandez was booked into the Cochise County jail.
