Gather the kiddies around the television tonight. It's time for the annual airing of “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.”
The simple, sweet animated TV special, based on the comic strip "Peanuts" by Charles M. Schulz, first aired in 1966. Directed by Bill Melendez, the endearing show has most of the Peanuts gang celebrating Halloween and getting goodies while Linus waits for the Great Pumpkin.
There's no CGI, 3D or any fancy-schmancy initials attached to the "Great Pumpkin." Just innocence and a smart storyline.
Get bath time over early and tune in at 7:30 p.m. on KGUN-TV, ABC.
