Now that the weather is cooler and Christmas is approaching, craft fairs and artisan markets are popping up in area shopping-center parking lots, schools and other locations.
One of our favorite markets is the Chris Bubany Annual Holiday Market at Harlow Gardens. Bubany and her whimsical, handpainted tableware headlines this open-air market. But there's more. Here are five reasons to love this event.
- In addition to Bubany, more than 40 well-known artisans showcasing their work are at the market.
- There are artists offering quality artwork, jewelry and distinctive pieces. There will not be crocheted toilet-paper covers.
- The market is in the garden setting of the popular east-side nursery. It is beautiful.
- Bubany's work — as many of the artists at the show — is work you won't find anywhere else. Bubany's clear, bold style and bright colors can't be replicated.
