An article in The Guardian mentioned North Korea's state-run KCTV network misused a popular internet meme that sent the internet in a craze in 2010 to mock America.
The Korean talk show used a picture of 'Riley the birthday dog' to show how dogs are treated better than the homeless in the United States.
At the 4:19 mark of the clip, the talk show begins to talk about the late recording-holding pooch, Tucson's giant Great Dane George. George was best known for being the world's tallest dog according to the Guinness World Records Book.Â
Riley went viral in 2010 after his owner posted the picture on her Facebook page. Riley became known for his smile, which users said looked like he was "under the influence of marijuana."
