A new system will allow TUSD families to apply for free and reduced meals and manage your child’s lunch account online.
The Tucson Unified School District serves an average of 40,000 meals a day, with about 74 percent of students eligible for free or reduced meals.
The change from a 15-year-old food service computer system will improve efficiency and effectiveness, while offering a convenient option for parents.
In addition to being able to make payments online, the new system will include special diet notifications that will pop up at the terminal.
Hard copy applications for the free and reduced meal program will continue to be accepted.
