Desiree Cueto has been named TUSD's new multicultural curriculum director.Â
The Tucson Unified School District Governing Board approved the appointment Tuesday night with a 3-1 vote. Members Adelita Grijalva, Kristel Foster and Mark Stegeman voted yes while Michael Hicks abstained. Governing Board Member Cam Juarez was not in attendance.Â
Cueto currently serves as the staff development and multicultural curriculum integration coordinator in TUSD's African American Student Services Department.Â
She is taking over for Augustine Romero who was recently appointed principal of Pueblo Magnet High School.Â
