One dozen Southern Arizona students will be attending international science competitions in May and June.
All of the students participated in the annual Southern Arizona Research, Science and Engineering Foundation fair in March.
Moving on to compete at the International Sciecne and Engineering Fair in Pittsburgh May 10 to 14 is: Diego Aubert-Vasquez and Pearl Dixon of Tucson High Magnet School, Amanda Minke of Immaculate Heart High School, Jeremiah Thomas Pate of Basis Oro Valley, Claire Thai of Thai Home School, Tapasya Trivedi of Academy of Tucson, and Sylvia Zarnescu of Canyon del Oro High School.
Joining them to observe at ISEF will be three middle students: Emma Elizabeth Vaughan of Vaughan Home School, Walker Kroubalkian of Sonoran Science Academy Broadway and Matthew Fosdick of Vail Academy, who took part in the Arizona Science and Engineering Fair.

Two SARSEF winners advanced to the International Sustainable World Energy, Engineering and Environment Project in Houston from May 7 to 10. They are Kade Gross of Gross Home School and Juan Marcelo Jimenez Parafianovich of Cibola High in Yuma.
Two Tucson students, Meagan Bethel of Tucson High and Rachel Evans Done of University High, both qualified to advance to Genius Olympiad in New York from June 14 to 19. Bethel will not be attending the competition and awards ceremony, and it was unclear whether Evans Done will make it.
