Reading Seed is seeking volunteers to help kindergartners at Keeling Elementary School develop a love of reading.
The effort is part of a partnership with the Amphitheater School District.
A recent analysis showed the Reading Seed program has the greatest impact when working with kindergarten students, who on average made 70 percent gains in literacy skills over their peers who did not participate.
At Keeling, each student will receive one-on-one coaching for one hour, twice a week for the entire school year.
Reading Seed provides training, materials and incentives to keep the learning process fun and relevant for students and coaches.
Summer training dates are available. For more information or to register for training, go to literacyconnects.org/readingseed
