About 1,500 Tucsonans are without power this evening after a monsoon storm swept through the Old Pueblo mid-afternoon.
Seven poles are down between the intersection of Houghton and Irvington roads west to Harrison Road and 100 customers are without power said Jennifer Fitzenberger, spokeswoman for Tucson Electric Power.
Northbound Houghton is open to residents only, according to a Tucson Police Department alert.
West of Interstate 10 in the area of Silverbell Road and Speedway about 1,200 customers are without power.
In the area of Wilmot Road and 22nd Street, about 240 customers are without power.
