According to the National Weather Service, Tucson Weather Forecast Office the downed power poles along Ina Road and toppled trees near Thornydale Road were caused by a microburst last Tuesday, Aug. 16.
No injuries were reported during the event, but winds up to 70 miles per hour caused significant damage to 18 power poles on Ina Road — from Interstate 10 to Shannon Road — and caused one to fall on top of a commercial vehicle.
