The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada gave Marana's finance department a Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the seventh consecutive year.
The award is for the town's fiscal year 2014 budget and comprehensive financial plan. The town received special recognition for the "performance measures" section of its budget document.
“These types of awards would not be possible without the organization’s commitment to excellence in budget reporting and the effort put forth by all levels of this organization,” Marana finance director Erik Montague said in a news release.
