The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada awarded Marana a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting award for its fiscal year 2013 comprehensive annual financial report.
It's the sixth consecutive year the town has received the recognitiion.
The award, given for full disclosure and clear communication of finances, is the highest form of recognition a city or town can receive for its accounting and financial reporting.
“These types of awards are made possible by the organization’s commitment to excellence in financial reporting and the effort put forth by all levels of this organization,” Town Manager Gilbert Davidson said in a news release. “It’s especially a testament to the professionalism and dedication to service shown by our finance department.”
