Pima Community College was on lockdown for about an hour late Monday morning after a report of a man with a rifle near the west-side campus.
Police were searching the school at West Anklam and North Greasewood roads as well as the surrounding area. The school sent a message about noon on Twitter that the campus buildings had been swept by police and no gunman was found.
The college’s police department alerted the Tucson Police Department of the report of a man with a rifle near the campus about 11:15 a.m., said TPD Officer Kristopher Goins.
Police conducted a methodical search of the buildings on campus.
