FLORENCE — A human smuggler has been sentenced to 22 years in prison for a 2012 rollover accident in Casa Grande that killed four people who were in the country illegally.
Pinal County prosecutors said Tuesday that 31-year-old Angela Celaya-Gonzalez previously pleaded guilty to four counts of second-degree murder in the case.
She received 22 years on each of the four counts, but a judge ordered that the sentences be served concurrently.
Authorities say as Celaya-Gonzalez tried to evade police in May 2012, her vehicle flipped with 10 immigrants inside.
The other six passengers suffered minor to severe injuries in the crash.
