Officers at the Nogales Port of Entry seized 1,700 pounds of marijuana worth about $847,000 in a shipment of mangoes on Monday.
Officers at the Mariposa commercial facility searched a tractor-trailer rig driven by Ramon Emilio Felix-Lopez, 57, of Sinaloa, Mexico, after a drug dog alerted to the rig, according to a news release from Customs and Border Protection.
Officers found 274 packages of marijuana within the roof of the trailer, which was carrying a shipment on mangoes.
The vehicle, drugs and mangoes were seized. The driver was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Secuirty Investigations.
