Three women – one from Tucson and two from Nogales – were arrested Monday trying to smuggle $100,000 worth of heroin across the Nogales border.
Ana Guadalupe Carrillo-Villa, 19, of Tucson; and Saniela Moncerratt Soloranzo-Flores, 20, and Silvia Santacruz, 25, both of Nogales, were arrested after U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers found nearly 7 pounds of heroin hidden in suitcases in the Jaguar sedan they were driving, a Department of Homeland Security news release, stated.
The heroin had a street value of $96,000.
