A 74-year-old woman found floating face down at a northwest-side fitness center pool was rescued by bystanders, including an off-duty paramedic, Saturday afternoon.Â
The incident happened around 5 p.m. at Platinum Fitness, 7315 N. Oracle Road, near West Ina Road.Â
Bystanders pulled her up onto the pool deck and she began coughing up water and breathing on her own, said Mountain Vista Fire District Battalion Chief Michael Price.Â
Crews from Mountain Vista fire responded to the incident and when they arrived the woman was alert, Price said.Â
The woman was taken to Northwest Hospital.
