Driving drunk is never OK.
As a reminder, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department will set up a DUI Sobriety Checkpoint Saturday to look for potentially impaired drivers.
The checkpoint is paid for through grants from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, according to a news release from the department.
For those planning to go out and drink alcohol, the department has a few safety tips:
— If going out with friends, designate a non-drinking driver.
— Take away car keys from friends who are impaired.
— Take a taxi home or call a sober friend for a ride.
— If hosting a party, remind guests to plan ahead and designate a sober driver or stay the night.
