A Tucson man who had recently sold his car, called police to report that the new owner was re-selling it for twice what he paid.
The original owner told a Pima County Sheriff’s deputy that he was honest with the buyer about the car’s myriad problems when they took it for a test drive. A few hours after the $1,300 sale was finalized, the seller saw his old car posted on Craigslist for twice the price. In the ad the new owner claimed “there were no problems with the vehicle whatsoever,” according to the September sheriff’s report.
The man said he did not believe the new owner “had the time to fix all the stuff that was wrong” with the car in the eight hours since the sale. He was also concerned that any scam the new owner was running might come back to him since his name was on the title and he did not see the new owner sign it during the transaction.
