A registered sex offender will be attending the University of Arizona in the fall semester, campus police said.
Charles Wesley Sorrell, of Vail, was convicted in 1995 in Napa County California Superior Court for sexual battery, officials said.
He was originally arrested in 1994 for lewd and lascivious acts with a child under age 14.
In 2012, he was convicted for failing to register as a sex offender.
The University of Arizona Police Department is mandated by state law to inform the community that he will be attending classes, according to a news release.
