Customs and Border Protection officers at the Nogales commercial crossing seized more than 2,476 pounds of marijuana found in a shipment of bell peppers.
Th drugs, worth about $1.2 million, were found in a tractor-trailer rig attempting to cross into Arizona on Tuesday. A drug dog alerted to the trailer and officers found 308 packages of marjuana, said a news release from the agency.
The driver, Sixto Hernandez-Apodaca, was arrested, the CBP said. The drugs and rig were seized.
