Federal officers seized ammunition headed into Mexico, and marijuana hidden in a load of bell peppers in two separate incidents earlier this week, officials said.
According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials:
On Wednesday, hundreds of rounds of ammunition were found in a Ford truck headed into Mexico at the Mariposa crossing. Clifton Wixson, 29, of Glendale, was turned over to authorities, and the ammunition and truck were seized.
On Thursday, officers seized more than $1.1 million worth of marijuana found in a tractor-trailer loaded with bell peppers at the Nogales Commercial Facility. The driver, Jorge Luis Castro-Rivera, 43, was taken into custody. The marijuana and vehicle were seized.
