Photos: Dillinger Days take over Hotel Congress

  • Jan 19, 2020 Updated Jan 17, 2021

Hundreds of people gathered downtown for Hotel Congress's 26th annual Dillinger Days outside of Hotel Congress, 311 E. Congress St., on January 19, 2020.

Dillinger Days include family-friendly festivities such as Dillinger capture reenactments, historical artifacts and vintage cars.

John Dillinger, known as Public Enemy No. 1, was a notorious bank robber in the early 1930s. Dillinger and his gang, known as the Dillinger Gang, arrived in Tucson in 1934. A fire on the third floor of Hotel Congress led to Dillinger and his gang's arrest. The capture and arrest of Dillinger helped put Tucson on the map, said Mincks while playing Dillinger in "The Hotel Congress Incident."
