CARLSON, Evan Holmes

CARLSON, Evan Holmes

CARLSON, Evan Holmes

passed way unexpectedly on June 18, 2018 in Los Angeles at the age of 25. He is survived by his mother, Kim Carlson of Tucson; his father, Tobin Carlson of Spokane; his sister, Erica Carlson of Tucson; his brother, Walt Carlson of Spokane; his grandmothers, Edith Carlson of Spokane and Elaine Stamm of Tucson, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Evan attended Harelson Grade School and Cross Middle School where he played in the band and was on the football, basketball and track teams. He attended CDO High School where he played on the basketball team, was on the Link Crew and involved in student government. He graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in Spokane where he played basketball and tennis. Growing up, he attended Northwest Bible Church in Tucson. After one semester at the U of A, Evan traveled to Spain where he worked for four months. He returned to Idaho to work and lived on a houseboat. Back in Tucson, he attended Pima CC and worked at several restaurants such as Swensen's Ice Cream store (where he met his girlfriend, Logan Wagner), Michelangelo's and The Arizona Inn. While working at The Arizona Inn, Evan received the opportunity to relocate to California because a designer of fine jewelry was so impressed by his outstanding service and eye for detail, she offered him a job at her LA location. He accepted the opportunity with enthusiasm and a spirit of adventure. Evan enjoyed many things: spending time with family, friends, and especially with Logan and their dog, Barkley. He loved going to the ocean, playing basketball and trying new restaurants. He was interested in computer programming and considered going back to school for an engineering degree. Evan will always be remembered for his wit, keen mind, kindness and regal stature. He was a very special young man and will be greatly missed by all. His family takes comfort in knowing that he is with the Lord and that they will be reunited someday. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 5:00 p.m., at Northwest Community Church, 505 W. Hardy Road, Oro Valley, AZ. Memorial contributions may be made in Evan's name to NAMI Southern Arizona.
