VILLARREAL, Ruben C.

born on June 26, 1942 in Morenci, Arizona, to the late Consuelo C. Villarreal and the late Rodolfo R. Villarreal, passed away at age 76 on July 1, 2018 in Tucson, Arizona. He served in the US Army from 1964 to 1966. He was with the 1st Infantry Division, Aviation Company, in Vietnam. After his discharge, he returned to Vietnam as a civilian Technical Representative for Bell Helicopter. Ruben graduated from the University of Arizona. He worked as an insurance agent for New York Life and later he worked in the aerospace industry, in quality assurance, at Bombardier Learjet, until his retirement in 2003. Ruben was married to Beverly Melancon Villarreal for 49 years. He is survived by his son, David Villarreal; daughter, Lisa (Todd) Crowell; brothers, Rudy (Mary Ellen), Steve (Susan) and Ross (Cindy) Villarreal; sister, Rosalinda (Erik Ludwig) Richmann and grandchildren, Tyler, Audrey, Brooke Villarreal and many nieces and nephews. Friends and family members may attend the Celebration of Life Service, on Saturday, July 7, 11:00 a.m. at El Camino Baptist Church, Tucson, AZ. Arrangements by OASIS CREMATION AND FUNERAL CARE.

WALSH, Mr. William P.

83, of Tucson formerly of Waterbury, CT passed away peacefully, with his family by his side on July 4, 2018, at the Pathways Hospice Unit at Handmakers Home for the aging after a brief illness. William was born in Yonkers, NY on August 9, 1934, the son of the late Peter J. and Helen Walsh. He was educated at Sacred Heart grade and high school in Yonkers, NY graduating high school in 1952. Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1957-1959. He first worked for Anaconda Wire & Cable Co in Hastings-on-the-Hudson, NY and in New York City and for Warnaco, Inc. in Bridgeport, CT for more than 33 years as a computer programmer. He retired to Tucson, AZ in 2000 and was active in the Tucson East Elks Lodge 2532 until the time of his death. Bill will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him especially his partner and the love of his life, Barbara Pavelka. He is survived by his sisters, Loretta Gibbs of Fort Meyers, FL and Elizabeth O'Neill from Yorktown Heights, NY. He leaves to cherish his memory his children: his son, Christopher Walsh and his wife, Wendy of North Carolina and his daughters, Sharon Walsh Calabrese and her husband, Jason Calabrese of Watertown, CT and Alison Walsh and her husband, Carlos Wells of North Haven, CT and his grandchildren, Colby and Chase Calabrese and Ignacious Wells whom he adored. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Maryellen Walsh Nowak and Helen Walsh Seredynsky. His family would like to thank and acknowledge the personal care and love shared with Bill throughout his illness by the nurses in the Neurological ICU at St. Joseph's Hospital and at Pathways Hospice. As an avid fan of golf, he was very proud of his many years of volunteering as a marshal for the Greater Hartford Open and the Bob Hope Classic Golf Tournaments. He spent many an afternoon with friends at the Hills Restaurant on the 19th hole at Western Hills Golf Course in Waterbury, CT. Bill was a very generous and loving soul who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Visitation Friday, July 6, 2018, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway Blvd., Tucson. Cryptside service Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Desert Cemetery with military honors. Reception with Elks service to follow at 12:00 noon at BPOE 2532 at 615 S. Pantano Rd., Tucson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bill's memory to his favorite charity for years: Covenant House, Times Square Station, P.O. Box 731 New York, NY 10108-0900.
