Seven teenagers were injured Wednesday morning in a five-vehicle wreck in front of Ironwood Ridge High School.
The crash happened at 10:52 a.m. on West Naranja Drive near North La Cholla Boulevard, said Chief John Sullivan, a Golder Ranch Fire District spokesman.
Students were leaving campus for lunch when one vehicle stopped short, causing other vehicles to slam into the back of each other in a chain reaction, said Officer Liz Wright, an Oro Valley Police Department spokeswoman.
Four people were taken to local hospitals for precautionary reasons. Three others were treated at the scene, Sullivan said.
Ironwood Ridge is scheduled to hold its graduation ceremony tonight at 7 p.m.
