Bus station site to become parking lot
City officials have revealed they will create a parking lot with about 100 spaces on the site where the Greyhound bus station now sits, at 2 S. Fourth Ave.
The one-acre lot will be available after the old bus station is demolished, which should be completed by the end of the year, said John Updike, the city's real estate administrator.
"It should take care of all our parking needs on the east end of Downtown," he said Friday.
Although the lot will be used for parking initially, city officials still are studying the best long-term use for the land.
